MISSION STATEMENT
To serve our
community with pride and passion as a quality example of individual and team
excellence on the field, in the office, at the arena and within the community by consistently exceeding our customers’ expectations by
demonstrating the highest character, appreciation and respect for
our
games, customers, teammates and partners as a cost-effective and visionary
organization providing a total entertainment experience.”
PURPOSE AND VISION
PURPOSE: To provide a
home for the great minor league teams in the United States. To give teams room to grow into a
professional sports organization. To
provide America with high quality professional football in the spring. Also, to build a high quality brand that will
be recognized from coast to coast.
VISION: The vision of
the NDFL runs very deep. The NDFL is not
looking to be the biggest pro football league out there, but simply the
best. We are our own brand of pro
football. We are looking to build a 1st
class pro football league for our team owners that have worked very hard to
build this elite football organization. The NDFL is the place where the elite
can finally market their teams as pro football clubs and a place to call home
for many, many years to come.
The NDFL is a pro
football league that was built to bridge the gap between semi-pro football and
pro football. The NDFL is a league that
will give team owners the ability to land national sponsors and to reach the eyes
and ears of football fans all over the United States.
A
training ground to develop professional players, coaches, and personnel both on
and off the field. Emphasis is placed on
fundamental development, career development, community involvement, and
education to everyone involved with the league.
The NDFL is a pro
football league, which means all members must drop their amateur status.
This does not mean you have to drop your non-profit status. This means all players in the NDFL are
considered pro football players and will lose all college eligibility. Even if the players are not paid to play,
they still take part in a pro football game and are ruled ineligible to
participate in NCAA football games.
Pre-Season: The pre-season
record has nothing to do with the regular
season record or conference standing or playoff standing. These games are to allow the coaches time to shape their
final rosters.
Regular Season:
Each team
will play 12 regular season games- 6 home and 6 away. All teams will have equally balanced
schedules. There will be no modifying of the final schedule. For the first season, teams will only play
the teams in their own conference and
therefore, play each team twice- once at home and once on the road.
Post Season: The post season will consist of 3 playoff teams from
each conference. The overall best
regular season record will earn a bye week in the 1st
round leaving the 2nd and 3rd best overall regular season record to face each
other in the 1st round. The 2nd
place team will have the option to host the playoff game or travel to the home
field of the 3nd place team. The winners
of the 1st round will travel to the home of the 1st
place team in the conference to play for the conference title.
The Championship: (To be named
later) The championship game will be played in the home city of one of the NDFL
teams. This site will be picked before
the start of the season. The NDFL will provide staffing in this city in order to promote and
ensure that the championship event is a
1st class professional football championship game.
Diamond All Star Classic: The all star game of the NDFL will be played as the 1st
game of a double header on the same day and site of the championship game . The
championship will be the 2nd game of the double header. (All this is subject to change per the
owners’ voting.)
